Chalkdene Developments secures outline planning approval for 48 new homes
Chalkdene Developments has received recommendation for outline planning approval for 48 new homes on a 1.82ha site in Dark Lane, Churchgate, Cheshunt.
Chalkdene has secured the site from Hertfordshire County Council to enable the construction of two, three- and four-bedroom homes on the former St Marys School site.
Ben Harrop, general manager at Chalkdene Developments, said: “Securing the planning permission is a huge milestone for the team and will allow us to deliver much needed housing in the south of the county. The development will provide modern and distinctive designs including sustainable features such as electric vehicle charging points and carbon efficient housing.”
The partnership with Herts Living Limited provides continued opportunities to regenerate underutilised and surplus land, owned by Hertfordshire County Council, to provide vital new homes in support of the county’s growth.
Steve Faber, managing director of Herts Living Limited, said: “HLL is delighted to be investing in another Chalkdene scheme. We are confident the high-quality design, family-friendly environment and excellent location will appeal to local homebuyers.”
Chalkdene Developments is a partnership between Herts Living Limited and the Morgan Sindall Group. A start on site is planned for late 2021 and the construction works will be carried out by Lovell, the partnership housing division of the Morgan Sindall Group.
